Entering its fifth year, the Kids Can Write Camp at the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Library offers young writers an opportunity to work with professional writers from Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 17.
Hosted by Western Counties Regional Library, the annual writing camp is for youth aged 9-15 and is a joint effort with Write Away, Yarmouth’s writing group.
There will be morning sessions from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and afternoon sessions from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. led by members of Write Away. Participants are expected to attend all sessions. Participants are asked to bring a lunch, except for Friday when lunch is provided and a reading of the participants’ work will take place.
The sessions will explore all aspects of writing. A public reading by participants will be held on the final afternoon of the camp from 1 to 3 p.m.
Registration is required as space is limited. There is a nominal cost of $15 per person for the week.
