The Musée des Acadiens des Pubnicos et centre de recherche is inviting schools and the public to take part in a Moutons à Mitaines event from Monday, Sept. 28 to Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

Visitors can watch the process from sheep to mittens - as raw wool is carded, spun into yarn then knit into mittens. There will be demonstrations with sheep, wool displays, and visitors will be able to try weaving on heritage spinning or real spinning wheels. Students can try spinning, or make sheep crafts and pictures while they watch the show. Cost is $1 per student, $3 per person.

The event is part of the annual Craft Splash, which is being held in Yarmouth and Digby counties from Sept. 26 to Oct. 3.

The Musée acadien is located on Hwy 103, Exit 31, #898 Rte. 335 in West Pubnico. Call 902 762-3380 for more info.
