As of Nov. 24, Western Counties Regional Library patrons with e-mail addresses will be receiving soon-to-be overdue notifications in electronic format.
“The regional library will send out its notifications by e-mail to improve efficiency while reducing costs,” says Debbie Duke Little with Western Counties Regional Library.
She says all first overdue notices and most second overdue notices will be sent by e-mail to those patrons with e-mail addresses. Only final notices, which include a bill, will be mailed.
“We believe it will be a better way to serve our patrons who have the available technology,” says Duke Little.
Those patrons who do not wish to receive notifications in this manner can opt out, she adds.
To do this, patrons must log into their account at http://www.westerncounties.ca
and click on the Change Address button. Patrons can also contact their local library staff to request the removal of their e-mail address.
