Viewers learned which Idol contestants would advance to the next round of competition during Tuesday night’s voting results show.

While d’Eon – who sang the Police song Every Breath You Take during Monday’s performance show – is one of the seven still in the running, Tuesday night marked the end of the road for Martha Joy, the 16-year-old from Toronto, who sang the Cyndi Lauper hit True Colours on the previous evening’s top-8 performance show.

She and Matt Rapley were this week’s bottom two vote recipients, but Rapley goes on while Joy goes home.

Tuesday’s show included another appearance by Enrique Iglesias, who on Monday’s program had been shown meeting the Idol contestants individually and who this time was on stage to sing a couple of songs.

Still in the hunt for the Canadian Idol title are Dwight d’Eon, Jaydee Bixby, Tara Oram, Brian Melo, Matt Rapley, Carly Rae Jepsen and Greg Neufeld.
