Joel Plaskett took home four Music Nova Scotia Awards at Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week for his hit release "Three".

Plaskett won for Pop/Rock Artist/Group Recording during the Music and Industry Awards brunch and scored three more at the Gala Awards Show including Album of the Year, Male Artist Recording and SOCAN Songwriter of the Year.

The Stanfields, which feature Yarmouth native Craig Eugene Harris, also won big during the evening ceremonies, taking home the Group Recording and New Artist/Group Recording awards for their self titled EP.

Bruce Guthro and Jimmy Flynn hosted Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week's largest awards show to date with performances by Joel Plaskett, Classified, Brian Borcherdt, Grand Dérangement, In-Flight Safety, The Tom Fun Orchestra, Charlie A'Court, Dave Carroll, winners of the Yarmouth Exhibition Battle of the Bands The Hold Up and Celtic fiddlers Dawn and Margie Beaton, Anna Ludlow, Colin Grant, Chrissy Crowley and Gillian Boucher at Mariners Centre.

Music fans chose Charlie A'Court as the winner of the Bell Aliant Entertainer of the Year. This was the second year that Bell Aliant partnered with Music Nova Scotia to allow the public to choose the Entertainer of the Year online, with more than 2,500 votes coming from around the world.

The final two awards handed out at the Gala Awards Show went to Jenn Grant for Female Artist Recording for her album "Echoes" and to Dave Carroll for Video of the Year for his YouTube video sensation "United Breaks Guitars".

The bulk of the awards were given out at the Music and Industry Awards brunch at the Rodd Grand Yarmouth on Sunday, Nov. 8. Carroll also won for Digital Artist of the Year and Dale Murray, another multiple award winner, took home a music award for Musician of the Year and an industry award for Producer of the Year.
