Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week is coming back to Yarmouth this November and Music Nova Scotia officials say part of ensuring its success is partnerships with area businesses.
Besides the title sponsor, the event already benefits from the support of the Vanguard and The Rodd Grand Yarmouth/Rodd Colony, which hold presenting status, the second highest level of sponsorship available next to title sponsor.
The latest additions to the sponsorship ranks include Doug Thistle Hyundai and CJLS, both of whom will sponsor performance stages. (Haley’s Lounge will be transformed into the Doug Thistle Hyundai stage and the Grand Hotel’s convention centre will become the CJLS the wave stage.) They join Tri-Star Avid Media, the event’s print sponsor.
“Without the support of local business music week would not be possible,” says Scott Long, executive director of Music Nova Scotia.
“Sponsoring a stage is the best way to communicate your brand message to hip, youthful, and captive audiences during the event all the while supporting culture in the province. Festivals like music week can reach consumers on an individual face-to-face experiential level. They create long lasting memories that nurture the development of future loyal customers.”
Doug Thistle of Doug Thistle Hyundai said “A production of this scale is very important to both the economy and spirits of Yarmouth County. We are extremely happy to once again be a stage sponsor for Nova Scotia Music Week, and look forward to a highly entertaining and successful event.”

It’s been pointed out a number of times following last year’s music week event in Yarmouth that events such as music week benefit not only the local economy but also the morale of the host community and are certainly worthy of support from local businesses.
Planning for music week is full steam ahead and there are stage sponsorship opportunities still available for local businesses.
“Not only are there stage sponsorships available for venues that will feature marquee acts but there are also other properties available such as receptions and awards,” says Long. “There are many affordable opportunities to brand your business and show your support to suit your marketing needs and budget.”
Nova Scotia Music Week, now in its 14th year, showcases approximately 75 artists on multiple stages and features the gala awards show finale at the Mariners Centre on Nov. 7.
“You would have to combine all of the major festivals in Nova Scotia together to equal the amount of Nova Scotians performing at music week and we thank our sponsors for making this possible,” says Long.
