Rudder’s Seafood Restaurant and Brew Pub’s manager Laura Muise says the business is hosting Rock the Dock (in a dockside tent) for two reasons.

“This event came about because of the cancellation of the ferry service to New England,” she said.

“We wanted to create an event that would bring people into Yarmouth and we wanted to celebrate summer,” she added.

The music starts at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 12:30 a.m. with no cover charge. A lounge will be located inside the tent, and only those 19 and over will be permitted inside.

“The music will be heard outside of the enclosed area so anyone wanting to hear this group that are under 19 years of age will be able to hear them on the outside of this enclosure,” said Muise.

Aldric Robicheau plays guitar and is one of the singers for Order of Good Cheer. He refers to their new group as a “party band.”

“The name comes from 1606 when Samuel de Champlain formed the first social club,” he said.

Bandmembers are an Acadian mix and play songs by Blue Rodeo, CCR, Eagles, Coldplay, and more.

Blueberry Grunt is a four-piece band lead by lead singer Dave Roberts. The Grunt has a reputation of making any event, small or large, a visual and vocal delight to all ages.

Roberts has entertained audiences for many years and provided the vocals behind Nova Scotia Tourism Right  Here Right Now promotion.

Lead guitar player Bruce Nelson has performed with Roberts for several years starting with the popular rock band Titan. Nelson and Roberts then formed The Trees who represented Canada in the world popular music festival in Tokyo where they won the prestigious Best Band award. Shortly after that, they released a record that contained a top-20 hit and a video achieving heavy rotation on Much Music. The Trees also won the CBC Atlantic songwriting contest.

They then formed Fire Rooster whose CD and video were also on the top twenty charts.

Audiences from all over Canada, Europe and the U.S.A. have one thing in common. They leave the show talking about the lively Celtic versions of traditional maritime music mixed with songs from the sixties through the millennium.
