The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, hosted by the Town and Municipality of Yarmouth, was held in front of the Yarmouth town hall on Friday night, Nov. 27.
While the festivities went on outside, inside an LED Christmas light exchange involving Nova Scotia Power and the municipal units took place, along with the serving of cider and hot chocolate.
Another Christmas event is planned for Sunday, that being the annual Christmas Parade of Lights which has been pushed back a day to a forecast for rain on Saturday. The parade starts at 6 p.m.
