The “plot” follows the same successful theme as those in the past, with plenty of comical situations, priceless expressions, and lots of favorite 1970s tunes belted out by the actors (with some audience members joining in).
The entertainment is interspersed with a salad, all the mussels you can eat, entrée of chicken cordon bleu or salmon and fruit mousse for dessert.
Rivalry for the Disco Queen crown is fierce between snooty Vanessa Montgomery, Cape Breton Islander Teresa MacDonald and the meek, shy Jessy Nickerson (who immediately wins a following when her Yarmouth County heritage is revealed).
On opening night the crowd became part of the entertainment, with youngsters screaming out “DINGLE” to wake one of the characters each time he slipped into a narcoleptic trance. One whole side of a table was clapping and swaying in unison to a tune, with some of the diners rising to dance with actors for the closing set.
Manager Donna Morton says the show, which normally starts around the middle of June, is late this year because of the loss of the Cat ferry and its impact on the community.
“We’re hoping the locals support us,” she said.

This show is terrible. These people don't know how to sing or act, but they do know how to scream. I'm sure they could do a lot better! I went with a group of five people and we all hated it. A lot of money to spend. Go to a movie instead.
