InNOVAcorp to launch I-3 Technology Start-Up Competition

The Grand Hotel in Yarmouth will be the setting Monday, Sept. 14, for the zone 2 launch of InNOVAcorp’s provincial I-3 Technology Start-Up Competition, a competition for Nova Scotians with potential new knowledge-based businesses.

The I-3 competition will be held in five geographic zones across Nova Scotia.

Zone 2 covers Yarmouth, Shelburne, Queens and Lunenburg counties.

A combination of cash and in-kind contributions will be awarded to each first and second-place zone winner.

At the end of the competition an overall provincial winner will be selected and awarded a seed investment from InNOVAcorp’s HPi (High Performance Incubation) Microfund.

The purpose of the I-3 Technology Start-Up Competition is to foster and support the entrepreneurial spirit in the business community across Nova Scotia and to encourage the formation of new knowledge-based start-up companies.

Monday’s event in will take place in the Yarmouth Room of the Grand Hotel from 4 to 5 p.m.

InNOVAcorp helps high-potential early-stage companies commercialize their technologies and succeed in the global marketplace.

InNOVAcorp’s HPi business model incorporates incubation infrastructure, business mentoring and venture capital investment.

Key industries include clean technology, information and communications technology and life sciences.
