The seventh annual Rudders Parade of Lights is taking place July 21 with boats following an appropriate theme this year: Mermaids & Mariners.

Seafest events manager Kayla Mooney says volunteer boats are available for any business, organization or association that wishes to participate in the parade but does not have a boat of their own.

“There are three boats available at this time to be decorated,” she said. “Just because you don’t have a boat doesn’t (prevent) you from entering the Parade of Lights.”

The Rudders Parade of Lights is a primary event of Seafest. Creative and original entries are seen every year with imagination mixing with reality.

If your business, group or association is interested in decorating a boat, contact Janice Saulnier at 902-742-7050, or through email at rudders@eastlink.ca.
