Derelict’s trademark sound has led to comparisons with Death, Strapping Young Lad and The Black Dahlia Murder.
Nick Dugas, who co-founded Yarmouth Metal with Jeff Clairmont and received a 2011 Nova Scotia Music Award nomination for Promoter of the Year in 2011, says they are “very excited” to bring Derelict to Yarmouth.
“They’ve been on our list of bands to bring in for quite some time and we're pretty sure our fan base are going to love their music,” he said.
Derelict has just released a new album and is well known on the Montreal metal scene, one that Dugas refers to as “quite easily the biggest metal scene in North America."
Tickets for the show, which is open to all ages, are $12 at the door.
Set times are as follows:
8 p.m. - The Convicted (from Barrington/Halifax)
8:45 p.m. - Dumpster Mummy (from Halifax)
9:30 p.m. - The Bombing of
Dresden (from Yarmouth)
10:20 p.m. - Last Call Chernobyl (from Halifax)
11 p.m. - Derelict
This is Yarmouth Metal’s second show this summer. They will be taking a break in August.
Dugas says this fall there will be more shows and that they are looking forward to being a part of Nova Scotia Music Week again Nov. 8-11 in Liverpool.
