An unveiling of the Cann boats exhibit will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m., at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives.

The panel is slated for installation on the waterfront next spring and is a production of the Yarmouth Waterfront Development Corporation.

The museum has an exhibit planned in conjunction with this, highlighting the Cann shipping dynasty that began with two brothers, John and Hugh, in the late 1700s and continued into the 20th century.

Also in this exhibit is the painting of the SS Usher on loan from the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. The Usher was the first large non-passenger steamer owned in Yarmouth by several members of the Cann family.

The exhibit will also include several other paintings and artifacts either from the museum’s collection or loaned for the exhibit by members of the Cann family.
