Casting call on March 23

Show dates for these plays are Aug. 13, 14, 15 and 21, 22, 23. Contact Randy at: for more information.

Following are descriptions of the plays:

Act I - The Snorkeler, written/directed by John Nause.

When Eva and her (much older) husband decide to spend a winter in Puerto Vallarta, Eva is eager to have some ocean adventure, swimming and snorkeling.  One day, while snorkeling alone on one of the many secluded beaches, she runs into difficulty.  A muscular and handsome young man rescues her and drama ensues.  But as the story develops, even stranger and more sinister events unfold, which leads to a surprising ending.

Act II - The Hard Yards, written by Tony Layton, directed by Randy Muise.

Romeo and Juliet or Danny and Helen? For Danny Thomas, where does the play end and real life begin? Danny is facing the “hard yards” of teenage life. He is bright, a high achiever and appears to be on track for a successful academic career, but has to juggle the stresses of school, parents, keeping fit, coming to terms with his own sexuality and getting to know the opposite sex.

The story conjoins Danny's facing of real life with the demands of school, his rugby team and a drama production of Romeo and Juliet. He realizes that life is not a rehearsal but the real thing, where you have to take control and assume responsibility. His strong admiration for Helen changes his life forever, when she experiences a profound trauma and, in his deep concern for her, Danny abandons all conformity. The Hard Yards will feature live acoustic guitar performances, vocals, and snippets from Romeo and Juliet.
