The Coal Shed Music Festival's third day is underway on the waterfront with the Battle of the Bands and the songwriting contest taking up the afternoon. The Shelburne-based band The Hold Up took first prize in the battle of the bands. Cranberry Head came second and Common Ground came in third.

This evening performers scheduled are Jen and Ross, James Ogden, Rough Edges, Windjammers and Fused for Tonight.

The festival is held at Killam's Wharf and is a fundraiser for the Yarmouth Food Bank. Donations of food or money can be made on site at the white van at the north side of the area.

The festival has a full day of music planned for Saturday and Sunday. If it rains there is talk of having the performers play under the tent that is there for seating.
