An information session that will deal with cyber bullying, harassment and positive school behavior is being held tonight (Monday, Oct. 20) at Drumlin Heights Consolidated School.

The intention of the information session is to give parents, students and staff the opportunity to learn how to work together to help maintain a positive school climate.

The information session has been set up by the Drumlin Heights home and school association in conjunction with the school administration and Bill Curry, the director of programs and students services with the Tri-County Regional School Board.

The regularly scheduled home and school meeting will take place at 6 p.m. The information session will follow at 7:15 p.m. Parents, students and staff are all being encouraged to attend. Phil Landry, school board superintendent, as well as board members, will also be present.

The tentative agenda includes the following: •Curry will open with a presentation on Cyber bullying. •Drumlin Heights staff will discuss positive school behaviour initiatives taking place at the school. •RCMP Constable Theriault will be discussing bullying and harassment from a legal standpoint. •Guest speaker Pam Mood will be giving a session on teasing, bullying and harassment. The theme of her talk will be: What is the difference and what can parents do?

The information session will conclude with a discussion: “What are the next steps?”
