Nova Scotia’s ‘Take the Roof off Winter’ winter active campaign will be officially launched on Jan. 20, which is World Snow Day, and will run until March 21, the first day of spring.

The campaign encourages Nova Scotians to get outside and enjoy winter. Examples of activities include snowshoeing, skating, walking, sledding, snowboarding, skiing and hockey. And that’s just a start.

For more information about Take the Roof off Winter, you can visit the campaign’s website or Facebook page. There are also contests that will run during the campaign.

Aside from being an initiative of Recreation Nova Scotia, there are regional ambassadors for this winter active campaign throughout the province. In the western region the ambassador is Misty Doucette who works at Yarmouth Recreation. She can be reached at 902-742-8868.
