Attendance at the 4th annual quilt expo and sale held recently in West Pubnico was up 30 per cent over last year’s attendance.
Around 200 old and new hand-quilted quilts were on display at St. Peter’s Church / Église Saint Pierre, including quilts from Haiti, PeaceQuilts.
During the three-day expo 535 visitors attended. The visitors also bought quilts – 15 in all. This sale provides income for the Musée acadien. One of the quilts sold was a quilt made by the people from Haiti. A donation of $350 will be sent to them.
Among the visiutors were people from the USA, Atlantic Provinces, Quebec and Switzerland.
Many volunteer hours contribute to the show and 65 people brought their quilts , hooked rugs and braided rugs.
