Yarmouth hosted its 7th annual Relay for Life on June 11 and 12. The 12-hour overnight event raises money in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
This year's event raised $120,457, meaning in the seven years the event has been held the fundraising effort from this end of the province is just around $23,000 shy of the $1 million mark.
The relay kicked off with the survivors and caregivers laps following the opening ceremonies. There were 245 registered survivors at the Yarmouth relay, which is the highest number of cancer survivor participants in Nova Scotia.
