11-day celebration ends with Parade of Lights

The annual Seafest festival kicks off on Wednesday, July 14 at 1 p.m. with a Children's Parade from the Visitor Information Centre to Frost Park where everyone is invited to join the Mayor's Picnic in the Park.

The 11-day festival includes the waterfront festival, lobster festival and Seafest festival as it has in recent years. Popular highlights include the Seafest Pageant on Thursday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m.; the Classic Car Cruise on Friday, July 16 at 7 p.m.with fireworks later that evening; the Fish Feast on Saturday, July 17 at 11 a.m. with the Seafest Parade at 4 p.m.; Rum Running Races on Sunday, July 18 at 1 p.m.; Concert of the Bells on Thursday, July 22 at 6:30 p.m.; and many waterfront activities on Parker Eakins and Killam Brothers wharves on Saturday, July 24.

The mackerel toss, which proved hugely successful last year, will be moved to a new location on the waterfront.
