Festival acadien de Clare challenges the people of Clare again

For the second year in a row, the Festival acadien de Clare is putting together a flag contest for the people of Clare.

This event was created last year in honour of the 125th anniversary of the Acadian flag.

 

Clare residents are invited to decorate their houses and businesses with Acadian flags during the festival. A few days before the end festival employees will make a count of all the flags in each district. The winner, which will be the district with the most flags, will be announced during the closing concert and take home the trophy for being the most patriotic district.

 

The division between the districts of Clare is as follows:

 

District #1 - Belliveau Cove, St. Bernard, Ohio, New Edinburgh and Weaver Settlement

District #2 - Concession north, Corberrie, New Tusket, Weaver Settlement, Easton, Havelock, Hassetts, Hilltown and Southville

District #3 - Grosses Coques, Church Point and Little Brook north

District #4 - Little Brook south, Concession south, Comeauville, Saulnierville and Saulnierville Station

District #5 - Saulnierville south, Meteghan River and Bangor

District #6 - St. Benoni, St. Martin, Maxwellton, Meteghan Station, Meteghan River, Meteghan Center & Meteghan North

District #7 - Meteghan south, Mavillette East, St. Alphonse and Cape St. Mary

District #8 - Mavillette West, Salmon River, Hectanooga, Richfield, Woodvale, Beaver River, Mayflower, Lake Doucette  to the Yarmouth County line.
