Yarmouth's annual Relay for Life has raised $76,087 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
The event, held at the Mariners Centre overnight June 15-16 saw 27 teams registered with 256 participants.
There were also 217 cancer survivors present for the event.
The event got underway with a survivors lap and then a caregivers lap on the relay track. From there, team members always had at least one, and usually more, members circling the track throughout the night. Aside from the survivors and caregivers laps, another highlight of the event is the luminaries ceremony where luminaries, purchased in memory of, or in honour of, a cancer patient, are lit to celebrate these people's lives.
Here are some photos from the event. This year's event at the Mariners Centre is an indoor-outdoor event.
