A sizzling celebration

There was no need for sweaters on Canada Day in Yarmouth with temperatures reaching at least 26 degrees Celsius beneath clear blue skies.

The day started with a pancake breakfast on the waterfront in support of the Yarmouth Town & County Crime Prevention Association. At noon there was the singing of the national anthem, introduction of the 2012 Seafest Royal Party and cake for everyone.

An afternoon of games and prizes launched at noon at the Yarmouth South playground with Kidz Act $treet Kidz, Anthony Dulong, and Connie Saulnier as entertainment.

Back at Killam's wharf, Al Robicheau took the stage at 1 p.m. as the first performer in a day long Canada Day concert. There was a fashion show from 4 to 5 p.m. to launch the week long Tri-County Multicultural Festival. The day ended with a spectacular fireworks show.
