Crewmembers aboard the Matador took first prize with their 429-pound blue shark landed during the 2012 Yarmouth Shark Scramble. There were 17 boats and 135 fishermen/women registered for the event. Forty-eight sharks were caught.

First place Ian McNicol 429 lbs on Matador 

Second place Tracy Doucette 425 lbs on James and Wilbur 

Third place Daniel R Muise 378 lbs on Rebecca Lynn 1

    This is the only time research data is collect on this species. There are catch limitations ensure that the population is not impacted. And all monies raised go back into the local communities. This is an amazing event.

    critically endangered species? lol, you must not go on the ocean ever...theres so many blue sharks its unreal, go talk to any boat on the water that week.
