Dates for public hearings have been set for the three elementary schools that are under review by the Tri-County Regional School Board.

At these hearings the public is able to give presentations on its feelings about the school reviews. These meetings will not be question-and-answer sessions, however, meaning the school board will only be there to listen to the presentations, not to engage in any dialogue.

Meetings dates, and an alternate date in case of bad weather, were set at the board’s Jan. 8 meeting. All meetings will get underway at 6:30 p.m. and are expected to be held at the schools.

The schedule is as follows:

• Arcadia Consolidated School: Feb. 20 (alternate date is Feb. 28)

• South Centennial School: March 4 (alternate date is March 6)

• Central School: March 20 (alternate date is March 21).

The school board will hold a special board meeting on Tuesday, March 26 where it will decide the futures of the three individual schools. The board is obligated to make that decision by March 31.

The time and location of the special board meeting has not yet been confirmed, although there was discussion about holding the meeting in the gymnasium of the Yarmouth high school.
