Several fire departments responded to a fire in Chebogue Thursday afternoon. The blaze leveled a shed behind a residence and skeletonized a nearby vehicle. The fire took place on a property on the Chebogue Road midway between the Chebogue Point Road and Town Point Road.

Yarmouth Fire Department platoon chief Lynn Seeley spoke to an occupant of the house who said that a woodstove in the shed contained only embers when a person had left earlier.

“The shed was destroyed and the camper van, which was still usable up until today,” said Seeley.

Another vehicle received minor damage.

Eel Brook, Lake Vaughn, Port Maitland and Wedgeport fire departments provided mutual aid

“We had lots of help,” said Seeley.

The home belonging to the shed’s owner was located close to the blaze.
