Due to physician illness and the unavailability of replacement, the Digby General Hospital emergency department is closed today, Friday, March 14, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Digby County residents requiring emergency services during the hours of closure should visit the nearest open Emergency Department or Collaborative Emergency Centre. Call first to ensure it is open.
The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of a health emergency; paramedics can administer live saving treatment during transport to hospital. In non-emergency situations, call 811 to speak to a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice. People experiencing a mental health issue can call the 24/7 mental health crisis line: 1-888-429-8167
