The RCMP arrested a male and a female at a residence on the Acadia First Nations reserve on Aug. 26 after executing a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

In a media released issued the morning of Aug. 27, the RCMP said a quantity of marijuana, ecstasy and other drug paraphernalia was seized. The RCMP said their investigation with regards to possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana and ecstasy was continuing.

Members of the Yarmouth-Clare Street Crime Enforcement Unit and the Yarmouth Rural RCMP Detachment executed the search warrant.

Because no charges have been filed with the court, no names have been released.
