A show cause/bail hearing for a Yarmouth County man facing charges in connection with an alleged home invasion has been adjourned to a date in late September.
The hearing for Nicholas Wayne Mood, 26, of Pembroke, is now slated for Sept. 25.
Mood has been in custody since his Aug. 6 arrest. The hearing was to have taken place in provincial court on Aug. 23 but Mood’s lawyer asked for an adjournment. Mood was present in the courtroom for the few minutes it took to deal with the adjournment.
Mood is facing eight charges, which include counts of break, enter and assault with a weapon; assault; uttering a threat; breach of recognizance and causing unnecessary pain to an animal.
On Aug. 6 the RCMP responded to a complaint of an alleged home invasion in Darlings Lake at a home that was being occupied by a man and a woman. The man was injured in the incident. His dog was also seriously injured and required surgery.
