The Yarmouth town RCMP are investigating a robbery with violence that the police say happened over the weekend.

According to an RCMP media release, at 3:56 a.m. on Sunday, July 29, officers from the Yarmouth Town Detachment responded to a 911 call of a robbery on Parade Street in Yarmouth. The police say that three male youths followed two young men, assaulting them and robbing them of money and personal property.

Both of the men sustained minor injuries, were treated at hospital and released.

One suspect, a 16-year-old male from Yarmouth, has been charged with two counts of robbery with violence.

The RCMP investigation into this matter is ongoing and on Monday, July 30, the RCMP were still seeking two further suspects. If members of the public has any information on this incident they are asked to contact the Yarmouth town RCMP detachment at 742-8777, any other detachment of the RCMP or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). People can also text TIP202 plus their message to CRIMES (274637) or by secure web tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
