The 33rd annual Finale des Jeux de l'Acadie began its sporting competitions on Saturday, June 30. There are around 1,100 athletes and a few hundred more coaches and chaperones from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Alberta in Yarmouth County for these games, which wrap up on Tuesday, July 3.

In addition to the athletes there are hundreds more family members visiting the area as part of the games, which are being hosted by the Municipality of Argyle.

Sporting events are spead throughout the county at Drumlin, Par-en-Bas, Yarmouth high, Yarmouth junior high and Meadowfields schools, along with the Burridge Campus, the Hebron soccer field and the Hebron Recreation Complex.
