The Yarmouth Clippers under-12 girls won bronze in their division at the Gunn Baldursson memorial soccer tournament in the Annapolis Valley.
The Yarmouth team defeated Sackville United (Sackville, N.S.) 2-0 in the bronze medal game. Andrea Oguntade and Katherine Kini scored the Yarmouth goals.
Yarmouth began the tournament by defeating CC Riders from Truro 3-0. Megan Hurlburt, Jalisa Fells and Abby Legere scored the goals. Andrea Oguntade and Hallie Moore shared the goaltending duties for Yarmouth, as they did throughout the tournament.
In its second game, Yarmouth was a 4-0 winner over Fredericton District Soccer Association U11s.
Next it was a showdown of undefeated teams, the winner advancing to the semifinal round. Facing the Valley United U11s, Yarmouth was a 2-0 winner on goals by Sophie Surette and Jalisa Fells.
In the semifinal, Yarmouth dropped a 5-0 decision to eventual champion Upper County.
Yarmouth then took the bronze with its win over Sackville and Upper County won the gold medal game against Fredericton U12 Division One 3-0.
