Peewee AA Gateways win league title

Yarmouth PeeWee AA Gateways have captured the Bluenose League title. 

Over the weekend the Yarmouth PeeWee AA Gateways captured the Bluenose League championship title in Halifax.

In the semi-final game Yarmouth defeated East Hants 5-2. The winning pitcher was Matthew Barron who also led the offense with a single and a double. Cory Newell had a double and a single and Brett Mercier had two singles.

In the championship game, Yarmouth defeated Kentville 11-9. The winning pitcher was Brett Mercier. The offense was led by Zach Lafave with three singles, Cory Newell with a double and a single and Dylan Spinney and Miguel Surette who each had two singles.

The Yarmouth PeeWee AA Gateways will be playing their districts on Tuesday in Yarmouth at 6 p.m. at Mariners Field and on Wednesday in Shelburne. If a third game is necessary the location will be determined at that time.

Yarmouth won the first game but lost the second one so a third deciding game to determine which team will go to provincials happens at 6 pm at Thursday night at the Mariners Field in Yarrmouth.
