The Yarmouth library’s informational series Mid-Week Break returns this month with three noon-hour programs on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 16.

People are invited to cruise the fjords of Norway with Laurel Nickerson on Sept. 16 from 12 to 1 p.m. She will do a presentation on her cruise of the fjords in the program room.

On Sept. 23, Jack Harding and Wayne Hamilton will be talking about the 2009 HeartLand Tour, a bicycle tour of Nova Scotia. The tour is a public awareness initiative aimed at educating Nova Scotians about cardiovascular disease, the toll it takes on those afflicted, their families, and society – and how easy it is to prevent. The cyclists will also discuss why they got involved and how others can become involved.

The month wraps up with the Magic of Italy, Part I on Sept. 30 with a journey through Northern Italy with Ron and Betty Cox. Visit Venice, Milan, Bologna and the Lake Como District through their video presentation highlighting the beauty and attractions of these regions.

Midweek Break is held Wednesdays at the library beginning at noon. Participants are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch and refreshments will be served. For information on programs call 902-742-5040 or check the events calendar online at www.westerncounties.ca. The library is located at 405 Main St. in Yarmouth. -30-
