The Scotia Garden Yarmouth peewee A Mariners brought home the silver medal from the Wickens Cup tournament that was held at the Shelburne and Barrington arenas the weekend of Feb. 13 and 14.

Yarmouth lost to the Bedford Blues 6-4 in the championship game. Quinten Johnson led the scoring with a pair of goals. Jaden Pothier and Logan O’Connell also scored. Cameron Jacquard had a pair of assists and Stephen Shaw and Matthew Hines also had assists.

Yarmouth went two for three in the round robin portion of the tournament.

The Mariners were blanked by Bedford 6-0 on day two of the tournament, prior to the championship game.

On day one of the tournament the Yarmouth Mariners posted a 3-0 win over the Shelburne Flames. Scoring were Logan O’Connell, Maguire Breton and Greg Kaiser.

Jacob Surette had a pair of assists. Also adding assists were O’Connell and Hines. Dylan d’Entremont was in nets for the win.

Yarmouth also defeated the West Hants Warriors 6-2.  Shayna Heroux had a pair of goals. Other goal scorers were Jaden Pothier, Cameron Jacquard, Cole Jacquard and Cameron Wallace.

Pothier had a pair of assists. Also adding assists were Hunter Hurlburt, Cameron Jacquard, Kaiser and Heroux. Jordan Nickerson was in nets for the win.

The consolation game of the tournament was won by Shelburne, which defeated West Hants 3-1.
