The Scotia Garden Yarmouth Peewee A Mariners made it as far as the semi-finals of the Joe Lamontagne March Break Tournament in Cole Harbour, falling just one game shy of the championship game.
The Mariners lost to the Bedford Blues in the semi-final by a score of 5-3. This was after rebounding from an early 4-0 deficit.
Bedford went on to beat TASA 4-2 in the championship game.
Yarmouth was undefeated in the round robin with two wins and a tie.
The Mariners were one of four teams to advance to the semi-final round. They accomplished this after ending the eight-team round robin in third place. Yarmouth was tied with TASA with five out of a possible six points. Both teams had scored 12 goals during the round robin but TASA only had five goals scored against them in three games, whereas the Mariners had seven goals scored against them.
During the tournament a shoot-out competition was held. The eight teams sent out a total of 24 shooters. The winner of the shootout was Quinten Johnson of the Yarmouth Mariners.
