Par-en-Bas reaches semifinal of provincials

The Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation’s Division 3 hockey provincials were held March 23-25 in Yarmouth, with the host École secondaire de Par-en-Bas Sharks reaching the semifinal round, where they fell to the Dalbrae Dragons 3-2.

The Strait Area Education and Recreation Centre Saints defeated Dalbrae 3-1 in the title game.

The Saints advanced to the championship contest by defeating the Bridgewater Vikings in Saturday evening’s other semifinal game.

Par-en-Bas goals in its 3-2 semifinal loss to Dalbrae came from Gilles LeBlanc and Riley LeBlanc.

The host PEB team began the tournament Friday evening with a 4-2 loss to the SAERC Saints.

Robert Surette and Morgan d’Entremont scored the Par-en-Bas goals in this one.

The next morning – in a game Par-en-Bas had to win in order to advance to the semifinals – the Sharks posted a 7-3 victory over the Inverness Rebels.

Par-en-Bas goals in this contest came from Francois d’Entremont, Nicholas Amirault, Gilles LeBlanc, Robert Surette, Taylor d’Entremont, Brett Wyman and Morgan d’Entremont.
