The Yarmouth County Minor Hockey Association will soon begin holding tryouts/evaluations for its rep hockey teams, along with its novice evaluations.
This year’s evaluations are different than they’ve been in past years. Rather than having two rounds of tryouts at the atom, peewee and bantam levels, this year players hoping to play rep hockey will all be evaluated at the same time during one set of evaluations and will be notified accordingly afterwards as to where they are being placed, whether it be AAA; AA; A or house league. There may also be one cut during the evaluations themselves.
Holding one set of evaluations is similar to what other minor hockey association do.
The rep evaluation schedule is as follows:
CHECKING CLINIC:
• Monday, Sept. 3: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.
ATOM:
• Tuesday, Sept. 4: 7:30-9 p.m.
• Saturday, Sept. 8: 2:30-4 p.m.
• Monday, Sept. 10: 5:30-7 p.m.
• Saturday, Sept. 15: 10-11:30 a.m.
• Sunday, Sept. 16: 10-11:30 a.m.
PEEWEE:
• Monday, Sept. 3: 5:30-7 p.m.
• Saturday, Sept. 8: 1-2:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, Sept. 11: 7:30-9 p.m.

• Sunday, Sept. 30: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Group 1) and 1:30-3 p.m. (Group 2)
NOTE: Registration for the upcoming minor hockey season is now being accepted at Yarmouth Recreation. Players must be registered prior to going onto the ice for tryouts/evaluations. Registration will also be taken on the first night of each division tryout.
There will also be a registration day for players registering for this year’s minor hockey season at the Mariners Centre on Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
