The Yarmouth Mariners defeated the  Metro Shipbuilders 8-5 Friday night, Nov. 16, in Yarmouth in a game that stayed knotted for the first two periods.

Zack Henry led the Mariners with 2 goals and 1 assist while Jared Hicks added 1 goal and 2 assists. Colin Campbell netted 2 goals.

Jonathan Biron opened the scoring at 2:08 to give the Shipbuilders a 1-0 lead. Darcy Burley (unassisted shorthanded) scored at 4:38 to extend the lead to 2-0.

Henry (Jared Hcks, Josh Desmond) scored at 14:03 to get the Mariners on the scoreboard at 2-1. Connor Rogers (unassisted) scored at 16:11 to tie the game at 2-2 after the first period.

Campbell (Henry) scored 47 seconds into the middle frame to give the Mariners the lead at 3-2. Jon Johannesson (Kevin Reid, Matt Wright) scored at 2:20 to extend the lead to 4-2. JP Harvey (powerplay) scored at 4:20 to cut the lead to 4-3. Brad Ryckman scored at 5:39 to even the score at 4-4. Braden Mercier (unassisted) scored at 11:22 to regain the lead for Yarmouth at 5-4. Brandon Boutilier scored at 12:38 to deadlock the score at 5-5. Henry (game winner, second goal of game, Morgan Messenger, Matt Tomah) scored at 13:44 to retake the lead for the Mariners at 6-5 after the second period.

Hicks (powerplay, Connor Donaghey, Rodney Mahoney) scored at 1:05 to extend the lead to 7-5. Campbell (second goal of game, Hicks) rounded out the scoring at 4:31.

Yarmouth went 1 for 2 on the powerplay while Metro went 1 for 3.

Maxxim Feener (25:39) stopped 6 of 10 shots before being replaced by Travis Wilkins. Wilkins (34:21) stopped 12 of 13 shots for the win while Jeff Arkin stopped 41 of 49 shots in the loss.
