The Yarmouth Atom A Scotia Garden Mariners played their last league game of the Western Nova Minor Hockey League season against Liverpool on Saturday, Jan. 12, defeating the Cougars 6-1.

Players Tristan d'Entremont, Brenna Verran and Nolan MacDonald each scored a pair goals. Adding assists were Verran, Yanick Cottreau and JJ MacPhee.

In the nets for the win were Charles Banks and Liam White.

On Thursday, Jan. 10, the Mariners had played their last home league game against the Shelburne Flames, winning the game 8-2. Justin Surette scored a hat-trick and Donovan Mullen had a pair of goals. Also scoring were Isaac Moore, Caelen Wallace and Denver d’Entremont. Adding assists were Yanick Cottreau (4), Mullen (2) Denver d’Entremont, Tristan d’Entremont, Brenna Verran and Moore.

White and Banks shared the win in net.

The Scotia Garden Mariners are on road this weekend for a Western Valley atom A tournament. The following weekend they are hosting Truro for a pair of exhibition games.

After this the team will move onto provincial playdowns and league playoffs. The Mariners have a league record of 11 wins, two losses and one tie.
