MIDDLETON, NS - The shady lawn in front of Macdonald Museum in Middleton was packed with young and old alike as the town and museum staff celebrated Canada Day with speeches, music, food, and lots of fun for the kids.
Town of Middleton recreation staff was on hand with a variety of games for the youngsters, such as parachute, washer toss, lawn darts, limbo, and bocce ball, plus there was face painting and a tight rope.
The Middleton Fireflies held a barbecue fundraiser, there was musical entertainment, and cupcakes arranged in the shape of the Canadian flag.
Middleton Mayor Sylvester Atkinson noted that Canada is the best place in the world to live. There was no argument from the audience whose members were decorated in lots of red and white and carried Canadian flags in a variety of sizes.
