YARMOUTH, N.S. – The Yarmouth Relay for Life takes place Saturday evening, June 23, at the Yarmouth Mariners Centre.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Following a reception that is held for suvivors, the event – which is a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society – gets underway at 6 p.m. with a survivors lap, followed by a caregiver lap and then the team laps. A luminary ceremony takes place at 10 .m.
The public is invited to the relay throughout the evening to watch the activities, support fundraisers and show their support to the cancer survivors and relay participants.
This year's ambassador for the Yarmouth Relay for Life is Lynette Foster, who is an ovarian cancer survivor and an organizer of the annual Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope held in Yarmouth.
