YARMOUTH COUNTY, N.S. – Firefighters responded to a fire in Hebron overnight that destroyed a home.
The call came in around 2:30 a.m. The structure fire involved a one-and-a-half storey home.
In addition to the Yarmouth Fire Department who fought the blaze, mutual aid was provided by the Valley and District and Port Maitland fire departments.
The RCMP closed off a section of road on Highway 1 to the 340 intersection, and along route 340 to Highway 101 during a time while firefighters were on scene fighting the blaze. The road was reopened hours later. Firefighters were on the scene of the fire for around five hours.
The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The fire marshal's office will investigate the cause.
