Three ATVs were stolen, but all were eventually recovered.

On Sunday, April 12 at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Yarmouth County RCMP responded to a report of a break, enter and theft involving the business. A preliminary investigation determined that the suspects entered a fenced-in area and used a tool to start the ATV's. A 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old youth from Yarmouth were arrested in Arcadia yesterday without incident and stand accused of the crime. Two other individuals believed involved in this incident remain at large at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Yarmouth County RCMP at 902-742-9106 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. The investigation is continuing.

Heather Crowell, a co-owner of the business, says there was a lot of damage as a result of the break-in.

“There’s thousands of dollars of damage. They took screwdrivers and drove them down in all the key switches with all the bikes in the compound,” she said, noting one of the ATVs that was stolen was valued at $16,000. That bike was found Monday morning after Crowell was approached by someone saying they had seen an ATV in the back of their yard.

Another ATV had already been found behind the compound at the business and a third was found down the road from the business.

Crowell said other damage included broken locks on the compound and cameras that were on the building were destroyed.

She noted the activity took place in the early evening, while it was still light out. She said one of her sons happened to show up at the business early Sunday evening and noticed people inside the compound and elsewhere on the property.

Crowell said the business has insurance to cover the damage, but she said there are things that even insurance can’t address.

“They've upset the whole business. Everything today, nobody has been able to work. You’re violated,” she said.

“But I’ve got to give credit to the RCMP because they were pretty prompt. They were out here, they had the dogs out here,” she said, adding they were also thankful to neighbours who also assisted.
