The theft occurred in the early-morning hours of Sunday, June 4.
RCMP responded at about 2 a.m. and were on the scene for a couple of hours or so.
The business was able to open a few hours later.
The police investigation continues.
Guy Surette, the Tusket Ultra Mart owner, said it’s disheartening that this sort thing would happen again.
The same business was broken into three years ago on the weekend of powerful windstorm Arthur.
As for this latest break-in and theft, Surette hopes police find the culprits before others are victimized.
He encourages anyone with information that might help with the investigation to contact the Yarmouth County rural detachment of the RCMP (902-742-9106).
Information may also be given to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
