William James MacDonald, 44, of Drewary Park, is also banned for life from possessing any firearms and must register as a sex offender for 20 years. He is also to supply a DNA sample to the national registry.

MacDonald was convicted of sexual assault that occurred between April and October 2015 and involved a girl under the age of 16. A second count of sexual touching was stayed.

The trial heard testimony from several witnesses reporting MacDonald and the girl would frequently engage in roughhousing. The victim testified that while it was consensual, it did turn into something sexual after MacDonald began slipping his hands under her clothing, touching her breasts and vagina.
