EMO Argyle is supplying drinking water through fire departments but has reduced the hours of operation at sites. To help EMO Argyle assess the need for future assistance, residents will be asked to sign their name and give their civic address. Pickup locations and times are as follows:

Surette’s Island fire hall – Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m.
Wedgeport fire hall – Monday and Friday, 1 to 3 p.m.
Eel Brook, West Pubnico and East Pubnico fire halls – no change from previous schedule.
Quinan, Kemptville and Lake Vaughan fire halls – available only upon request.
Water sources/showers
Non-drinking water is available to the public to fill small or large containers at the following locations: East Pubnico fire hall, Argyle municipal office, Surette’s Island fire hall, Mariners Centre.
Showers are available for public use upon request at the Wedgeport Fire Hall.
Returning your well to service
Residents are advised before they start using their well again to make sure they have sufficient water levels so that the pumping of water does not disturb bottom silt or mud or they will have dirty water. Also, that water volume can meet their minimum daily household use. Residents are asked to consider hiring a professional to inspect the well and plumbing system, check for damage related to the well going dry and help return the well to service.
Residents also need to be sure to test their well water for safety before drinking it. Sterile sample water bottles to test drinking water are available at the municipal building in Tusket and the Yarmouth hospital (fifth floor).
