Paddlers learning life-saving techniques during Bay of Fundy Sea Kayak Symposium

YARMOUTH - The first day of sessions offered by the Bay of Fundy Sea Kayak Symposium got underway on Saturday morning.

Close to 80 kayakers, plus 36 coaches, are fanning out from the central location - Ye Olde Argyler Lodge - to Cape Forchu, Lobster Bay in Argyle, Tusket Island as well as Cape Sable Island, during the three day event (Sept. 25-28).

The public is invited to Ye Olde Argyler for free special guest presentations on Sunday, starting at 7:30 p.m. Each presentation will last 20-30 minutes.

Here are a few photos of the action taking place at False Harbour Saturday morning during a session on rough landings and incident management.
