YARMOUTH, N.S. – A substantial water leak that had impacted parts of the town has been repaired.

During town council's Thursday evening, Feb. 8 meeting, Yarmouth Mayor Pam Mood announced around 8:20 p.m. that she had received notification that the leak had been repaired. She said isolating the location of the leak had been a challenge for town crews and commended the workers on fixing the issue.

"It wasn't an easy find to locate that leak but they've done that," the mayor said. "That was a hard job well done."

She noted in addition to residents there had also been businesses affected by the situation and that the town was pleased the issue was now rectified.

The mayor said during her comments at the council meeting that people had been without water service were receiving it again.

The issue had arisen early Wednesday, Feb. 7. In addition to water interruption there had also been water discolouration but the town said it was still safe to drink and use,
