The Annapolis Valley Regional, Tri-County Regional and Conseil scolaire acadien provincial made the announcements early Jan. 9 ahead of an approaching weather system.
Schools in the South Shore Regional School Board are open, but the road closure plan is in effect for the Forest Heights family of schools, including New Ross and for bus route 281, driven by Shirley Moore, serving New Germany Elementary School and New Germany High School.
Today's weather is supposed to bring snow and rain to much of Western Nova Scotia with temperatures climbing to above freezing and then falling again later in the day.
